Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is all heart but no feelings, all love but no romance, all drama but no emotions

Ae Dil Hai MushkilIf we talk about the story, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has a very complicated and boring love story – Anushka Sharma with a heart break gets a shoulder of Ranbir Kapoor making him fall in love with her. Getting her love back, Anushka leave the shoulder but want Ranbir to remain the shoulder (Karan Johar want to call it friendship) if she wants to come back again anytime. After his heart break, Ranbir found a shoulder in Aishwarya making her fall in love with him, but Aishwarya understanding his love for Anushka chose to stay away from him. Ranbir taking a short break from all this confusion becomes an online singer and ultimately gets back to Anushka and accept her friendship.

Karan Johar doesn’t seems to be interested in coming out of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Mode where he talks about love and friendship between a boy and a girl as a two different things. Although with KKHH the two friends ultimately realise their love for each other, with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Karan Johar chooses to be firm with the friendship concept.

Ayan Sengar (Ranbir Kapoor), a rich who can hire his own plane, meets Alizeh Khan (Anushka Sharma) and strike a chord with her immediately. Alizeh claiming to be lady devdas and knows what heart break is, makes fun of Ayan for his seasonal heart break and both become shoulder for each other. Alizeh firm on her concept that friendship is more important than a relationship and last longer still Ayan falls for her. This makes the chemistry between Ranbir and Anushka boring and preachy every time and the one sided love never makes an impact on the audience and fails to get connected. There comes the Divorcee Saba Tahir Khan (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a poet falling for this charming boy Ayan. Ayan finding a shoulder again flirts with Saba but still in love with Alizeh he always looks back to her. Again being a one sided love, the chemistry doesn’t work here also and romance of Ayan and Saba looks forced. Although Aishwarya sizzles every time, Ranbir remains flat may be as per the demand of the script.

The Movie keeps running smoothly without much ups and down and remain flat most of the time, even the climax doesn’t have the kind of effect it should have and audience just wait for the end of the movie. Karan Johar fails to create the romance he is known for and offers a very ordinary presentation of love and friendship saga. The movie lacks the emotion and feeling and that’s why it fails to get connected with its audience. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is all heart but no feelings, all love but no romance, all drama but no emotions.

Ranbir Kapoor impresses as Ayan Sengar the confused guy looking for love every time. Anushka Sharma being preachy always falls for overacting sometime. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is still beautiful and will remain always, her portrayal of Saba Tahir Khan, the poet is mesmerising and with her small part she impresses the most. Thanks to Lisa Haydon as Lisa for being the infatuation and Sahrukh Khan as Tahir Khan for being the love guru for Ayan Sengar.
