Viewers will have a choice on 25th January 2017 – Kaabil or Raees, but Bollywood will not have a choice but to lose Rs 100 Cr because of the Release Date Clash between these two big banner offerings.
FilmKraft Productions new offering Kaabil was in news recently for the clash of Release Dates with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. Raees was scheduled to be released on the occasion of EID 2016, but postponed considering Salman Khan’s Sultan Release. The new date announced was 26th January which again clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil. To avoid the clash when Rakesh Roshan, producer of Kaabil, decided to prepone the release date to 25th January, very soon the announcement came from Sahrukh Khan’s Raees as well to prepone its release to 25th January as well. Now as both the movies are slated to release on 25th January, two Bollywood stars will be locking the horn but it will be the best movie which will win. Both the stars has their own fan following but reviews on 25th will make it clear as where the audience will be putting their money.
Hrithik Roshan breaking his silence talked to media regarding the clash and made it clear that although it’s not unethical and wrong, professionalism at Bollywood has taken a back seat. He gave example of Hollywood where never two films clash like this as ultimately it’s a loss to the industry. Hollywood plans their calendar so well to maximise the earning of each releases. He quoted a Rs 100 Cr loss to the industry because of this clash and wished it could have been managed in a better way.
Kaabil, produced by Rakesh Roshan under their banner FilmKraft, is being directed by Sanjay Gupta better known for Kaante. His last directorial venture was Aishwarya Rai and Irfaan Khan Starrer Jazbaa. Kaabil will see the bothers Rohit Roy and Ronit Roy together for first time on silver screen playing negative roles. Music is by Rajesh Roshan and Urvashi Rautela sizzling on the screen with the recreated “Saara Zamana” from 1981 film Yaarana as “Haseeno Ka Deewana” will be one of the attractions.
Yami Gautam has been paired with Hrithik Roshan for the first time and both are playing visually challenged person in this said to be revenge drama. The film will be released in Tamil and Telgu as well on the same date.
