Raees Movie Review: Said to be loosely based on Abdul Latif’s life, Raees is the story about a boy who understand from his mother that business is important, either small or big. He also understands that there is no religion greater than your work. Born and brought up in Gujrat where Business is in the air, it’s a story of Raees with a dedication to build his own business. Being involved with illegal liquor business, its matter of time Raees get involved with Criminals and Crime, Politicians and Politics. Raees the movie shows how a Liquor Ban in Gujrat provides a business opportunity for illegal smuggling and selling of liquor. It also shows how corrupt the system is where these illegal businesses thrive and crime grows.

Raees from his Childhood itself was a part of this illegal business and work towards setting up his own business when grown up. It’s a journey of Raees (Shahrukh Khan) with his Childhood Friend Sadiq (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) who setup their own Liquor Smuggling and Selling Business. With the illegal business they become partner to other illegal business man and politicians which gets him in trouble. He also becomes the target of one of the honest police officer Jaideep Ambalal Majmudar (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who ultimately gets a hold of him.

Raees as a film seems to be outdated with the kind of treatment provided. It looks like an old Amitabh Bachchan Starrer where the Hero can do all the daring work. Although in the crime world, he hates the wrong doing and helps the poor. Raees work with the performance of Shahrukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The pace of the movie keeps you engrossed. The fights, killing, dance number and the dialogues will make the SRK Fan whistle. The romance with Aasiya (Mahira Khan) gets sidelined with the Raees’s Bigger Motive. Mahira Khan as a wife of Smuggler getting involved with crimes shows her emotions well. The two other important characters of the Movie – Seth (Atul Kulkarni) and Musa (Narendra Jha) impresses with their acting skill and have done justice to their role.

The Film Raees is a onetime watch for Shahrukh Khan Fans, it doesn’t have anything new which has not be seen before. The movie doesn’t bore you because of its pace and all the actions, but leave you looking for something new.
