Ok Jaanu Movie Review

Ok Jaanu is a sweet and simple love story with great chemistry between the lead players.

Ok Jaanu Movie ReviewOk Jaanu is a remake of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani (Ok Kanmani), but here I will not compare this movie with the original one and will review it as it is.

Ok Jaanu is a story of two young and vibrant couple having no faith in marriage and wants to live a non-committal life. It’s also a story of an old couple setting an example of married life with full of love and commitments. Both story runs contradicting each other and becomes one at the end.

Ok Jaanu starts with a very interesting note; meeting and introduction of the lead players Adi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Tara (Shraddha Kapoor) will really excites you. The two strike a chord immediately with their common philosophy of “No Marriage” and living a non committal life. With their carefree nature they enjoy the life to its fullest, and get attracted towards each other. They started living together and their romantic lustful life will keep you entertained in the first half.

As they live with an old couple, Gopi Uncle (Naseeruddin Shah) and Charu Aunty (Leela Samson), their story also runs parallel. Charu suffers from Memory Loss and Gopi looks after his wife with utmost love and care. The old couple becomes a symbol of love for Adi and Tara who ultimately decides to get married shunning their old philosophy understanding their love for each other.

As the story doesn’t have much Drama, the second half of the movie becomes little stagnant. The story could have been little more emotionally engrossing as it’s about establishing the value of Marriage, love and relationship among the young couple but it fails to deliver the message to its audience strongly. The movie runs smoothly without much ups and downs and leave audience to understand the feelings on their own.
